Communications Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This Communications Policy explains how Dirty Load Laundry uses email and text (SMS) messages. It works together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Types of messages
A. Necessary account messages (email)
We may email you messages required to operate your account even without optional marketing/status opt-ins — for example email verification, password reset, and critical payment or security notices.
B. Email Communications (optional)
Under Account → Communications, one Email Communications option covers order and account emails: order confirmations and status updates, receipts, support ticket replies, and account notices such as store credit added to your account.
This option defaults to off. If you use our mobile app, it may also ask permission to send push notifications for the order moments you choose; you can turn those off anytime in the app or your device settings.
C. Marketing
Marketing emails and texts are not currently offered. If we offer them in the future, they will require a separate opt-in (off by default), will never be required to place an order, and every marketing email will include an unsubscribe link.
D. Operator / staff alerts
Our operators may receive internal alerts (email/SMS) when you place a paid order or request a status update so we can fulfill service. Those messages go to our staff numbers and inboxes, not to other customers.
2. How you opt in (email preferences)
- Create an account at https://www.dirtyloadlaundry.com.
- Open Account → Communications (/account/communications).
- Check Email Communications (it is not pre-selected).
- Click “Save preferences.”
Customer SMS preference checkboxes are temporarily unavailable. After checkout we may remind you that email preferences exist; we do not turn alerts on for you.
3. Message frequency
Email Communications frequency depends on your orders — typically a few emails per active order. We do not send optional emails you haven’t opted in to.
4. Costs
Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile plan. Dirty Load Laundry does not charge an extra fee simply for enabling SMS preferences; carrier charges are between you and your carrier.
5. Opt out & help (SMS)
- Reply STOP to any Dirty Load Laundry SMS to cancel text messages from our alert program.
- Reply HELP for help.
- When SMS preferences are available, you can also turn them off anytime under Account → Communications.
- Email Support@Dirtyloadlaundry.com for assistance.
After STOP, you may receive a one-time confirmation of opt-out. Essential account emails may still be sent when required to operate your account.
6. Who sends messages
- Email delivery may be sent through Resend (or a similar provider) from addresses on our domain (for example notifications subdomain).
- SMS may be sent through Twilio (or a similar provider) from our business texting number.
- Supported carriers include major US wireless providers; delivery is not guaranteed on all carriers or devices.
7. Privacy
We use your contact information as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your phone number or email list. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.
8. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of communications features after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
