Terms of Service
Last updated: October 11, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of https://www.dirtyloadlaundry.com, our Android app, and Dirty Load Laundry laundry Services. By creating an account, placing an order, or using the site or app, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Dirty Load Laundry provides contact-free laundry pickup, wash, dry, fold, and return. Service is currently offered for addresses in ZIP 54501 (Rhinelander, WI area). We may expand, pause, or change availability.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- We may refuse service, suspend, or deactivate accounts for abuse, fraud, safety issues, unpaid balances, or Terms violations.
- You must be able to enter a binding contract (generally age 18+).
3. Ordering & scheduling
- Orders are placed through the website or app after you sign in.
- You select pickup/return windows, service speed (Standard or Express where offered), the containers you’re leaving out (which sets your estimated number of loads), any additional Dirty Load totes, care options, and add-ons.
- At checkout we place a hold (authorization) for those estimated loads and any tote purchases, plus selected options, at fixed per-load pricing. Your card is normally charged when we mark the order en route to pickup, not at checkout.
4. Pricing
Published rates (currently Standard $15/load and Express $25/load, $30 order minimum before delivery and tip, with lower per-load rates for larger orders as listed on the Pricing page; each listed container counts as a set number of loads), company storage tote purchase fees (currently $10 per additional tote; one free branded tote delivered with a customer’s first order while supplies last; if we’re out, that order comes back in sealed clear bags at no charge for the tote), and add-ons are described on Pricing. Optional extras such as timed-window fees and tips are shown in the order form before you check out. Every order includes a delivery fee of $0.35 per mile across the full service trip (four legs: pickup out and back, return delivery out and back), with a $4.99 minimum, itemized at checkout before you pay. We may update pricing prospectively. Taxes may apply where required. Bulky items count toward your loads.
5. Pickup & delivery
- Service is contact-free: leave laundry at the agreed spot; we pick up and return without requiring an in-person handoff when possible.
- Your order purchases a time window plus wash/dry/fold for the containers you listed at checkout. Pricing is based on those containers.
- Laundry may be left in bags, baskets, hampers, or Dirty Load totes. At pickup we may transfer laundry into our own containers; baskets and hampers are left at the pickup spot. Laundry is returned folded in sealed clear bags, or in the customer’s Dirty Load totes when it was left in them. A customer’s first order is delivered with one free branded Dirty Load tote, which the customer keeps.
- You must provide accurate access instructions. Failed pickups due to inaccessible laundry, unsafe conditions, or incorrect info may delay service or incur fees.
- Windows are targets, not guarantees. Weather, volume, traffic, and safety can affect timing.
- You can track progress in your account Order history.
6. Laundry condition & prohibited items
- You confirm items are reasonably clean of hazardous materials and meet ordinary health and safety expectations for commercial laundry.
- Do not include biohazards, excessive bodily fluids, needles or other sharps, chemicals, firearms, illegal items, or items that create an unreasonable health risk.
- We may refuse, return unwashed, charge a $20 special handling fee, or close accounts for contaminated or prohibited loads, especially if repeated.
- Empty pockets of valuables. We’re not able to cover items left in pockets. Care concerns for garments are handled under our Hang Tight policy.
7. Care & results
We wash with professional care and separate lights/darks by default when practical. Fabric wear, dye transfer, shrinkage, and preexisting damage can still occur. Please do not include irreplaceable sentimental items. Choose care options carefully. If something goes wrong, we review concerns in good faith and may offer store credit, a partial or full refund of the service charge, and an apology as described in our Hang Tight policy.
8. Payments
- Payments are processed by Stripe. At checkout you authorize a hold for the estimated loads and options selected. We capture (charge) the card when staff is en route to pick up your load.
- You agree that the containers, estimated loads, and options selected at checkout define the service purchased.
- Failed payments or declined holds may pause future orders until resolved.
9. Cancellations & changes
You may cancel or delete eligible orders in your account while they are not yet in progress, subject to the rules shown in Order history. Canceling before we are en route typically releases the card hold. Once laundry is picked up or processing has begun, cancellation may not be available and charges may still apply for work performed. Contact Support@Dirtyloadlaundry.com for help. Support is handled by real local people (not chatbots); response times can vary.
10. Communications
By creating an account you may receive service emails necessary to operate your account (for example password reset or critical payment notices). Optional order-status alerts require separate opt-in under Account → Communications, and any future marketing messages will require their own opt-in. See our Communications Policy.
11. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the Services, attempt unauthorized access, harass staff, submit false information, interfere with other customers, or use the Services for unlawful purposes.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DIRTY LOAD LAUNDRY’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THE SPECIFIC ORDER GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR — WHERE IT APPLIES — THE BASIC CARE CREDIT LIMITS DESCRIBED IN OUR HANG TIGHT POLICY. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dirty Load Laundry and its operators from claims arising out of your misuse of the Services, inaccurate information, prohibited items, or violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict of law rules. Exclusive venue for disputes shall be state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes may also be noted on the site. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
