Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dirty Load Laundry (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use https://www.dirtyloadlaundry.com, our Android mobile application, our ordering tools, and related services (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

Dirty Load Laundry provides contact-free laundry pickup, wash, dry, fold, and return in Rhinelander, Wisconsin (ZIP 54501). Contact: Support@Dirtyloadlaundry.com or (715) 544-8936.

2. Information we collect

Account & profile

  • Name, email address, phone number, and password (password is stored by our auth provider in hashed form — we do not see your raw password).
  • Saved service addresses and pickup instructions (building type, pickup spot, entry notes).
  • Laundry care preferences and communication preferences you choose.

Orders & support

  • Order details (service tier, schedule windows, containers and estimated loads, tote ownership, add-ons, tips, notes).
  • Pricing, payment status (including holds and charges), and delivery status as we process your order.
  • Support ticket messages you send and our replies (handled by real local staff).
  • Photos staff take of your laundry at your pickup or drop-off spot to confirm pickup and delivery. They are kept with your order records.

Payments

Card and other payment methods are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or CVV on our servers. We may store Stripe customer IDs and limited display metadata (for example card brand and last four digits).

Mobile app & devices

  • When you install our Android app and allow notifications, we store an Expo push token and basic device platform (for example Android) so we can send order-status and support alerts you opt into.
  • Push tokens are tied to your account and can be removed when you sign out, turn off push preferences, uninstall the app, or close your account.
  • App sessions are stored on-device using secure storage so you can stay signed in.

Technical data

  • Session cookies and similar technologies needed to keep you signed in and secure the site.
  • Basic server logs (for example IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and reliability.
  • Address suggestions you type when entering a location (to help complete your address).
  • Website usage data collected through analytics (see Cookies & similar technologies): pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, the site or link that referred you, and steps in the ordering process (for example starting an order or entering a ZIP code we don’t serve yet).
  • How you found us: when you create an account on the website, we save the campaign tag or referring site from your visit (for example “Facebook post” or “flyer”) with your account so we know which outreach works.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, schedule, and fulfill laundry orders and customer support.
  • Authorize a card hold at checkout for your estimated loads, capture payment when we are en route to pickup, and show receipts/history in your account.
  • Send transactional messages you request or that are necessary to the service (for example account confirmation or password reset via our email provider).
  • Send order, support, and account emails only if you turn on Email Communications under Account → Communications (off by default). SMS opt-ins may be offered later; they are not currently available in the account UI.
  • Send push notifications on the Android app only when you grant notification permission and enable the relevant communication preferences. The one exception: when our team replies to you in an order chat, the app notifies you whenever notification permission is on.
  • If marketing email/SMS/push is offered in the future, send it only if you separately opt in, with an unsubscribe link in every marketing email.
  • Notify our operators/staff of new orders, status-update requests, and operational needs.
  • Improve safety, prevent fraud/abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.

4. Text messages (SMS)

Customer SMS alerts are not currently offered in Account → Communications. If we enable them later, they will require an explicit opt-in, default off, with STOP/HELP support as described in our Communications Policy. Message and data rates may apply when SMS is available.

5. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the Services, including with:

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Resend (or similar) — transactional and opted-in email delivery.
  • Twilio (or similar) — opted-in SMS delivery and operator alerts.
  • Expo / push infrastructure — to deliver opted-in mobile push notifications to your device.
  • Hosting / infrastructure (for example Vercel) — to serve the website and mobile APIs.
  • Mapping and address services (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap-based services, and the U.S. Census geocoder) — to suggest and verify addresses and measure driving distance for the delivery fee. Only the address is sent.
  • Google Analytics — website usage statistics described in Cookies & similar technologies.
  • Meta (Facebook) — the Meta Pixel, to measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to sign-ups and orders, plus the same sign-up and order events sent from our server (Meta Conversions API).
  • Staff / operators — who need order and contact details to pick up, process, and return laundry.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (for example a sale of assets), subject to appropriate protections.

6. Cookies & similar technologies

We use essential cookies/session storage to authenticate you and protect the Services. You can block cookies in your browser, but the Services may not function (for example you may be unable to stay signed in).

We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and show us, in aggregate, which pages and links people use. Google processes this data under its own policies. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies.

We use the Meta Pixel to measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to sign-ups and orders, and to show our ads to people who have visited the site. For a completed order we send only the order total and a random order reference number, never your name, email, address, or what you ordered. We also send those sign-up and order events to Meta from our server, with your IP address, browser type, and Meta’s cookie ID, so they’re still counted if an ad blocker stops the Pixel. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don’t load the Meta Pixel or send these server events. You can also manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.

We also keep a small record in your browser’s local storage of the first and most recent link or campaign that brought you to the site and the page you landed on, which is saved with your account if you sign up. We do not record your screen or keystrokes, use device fingerprinting, or sell your information.

7. Retention

We keep account, order, and support records while your account is open and as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your account, we delete your name, phone number, saved addresses, saved cards (your Stripe payment profile), preferences, and push device tokens, and permanently disable sign-in. We keep:

  • Order and payment records (including the service address and pickup instructions saved on each order) for up to 7 years, for tax and accounting law and to handle refunds or chargebacks.
  • Support tickets and order messages for up to 2 years, to resolve disputes and claims.
  • The email address on the closed account, to prevent reuse of first-order promotions and to answer questions about past orders.

Retained records are not used for marketing. See Delete your account for how to request deletion.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to our size and risk profile, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and payment handling through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Your choices

  • Update profile, addresses, and preferences in your account (website or Android app).
  • Change or turn off email and push preferences anytime under Account → Communications.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in those emails (if marketing is offered).
  • Opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser.
  • When customer SMS is available: text STOP to end SMS; HELP for help.
  • Delete your account in the Android app under Account → Delete account, on the website at dirtyloadlaundry.com/delete-account, or by emailing Support@Dirtyloadlaundry.com. What we delete and keep is described in Retention above.
  • Email Support@Dirtyloadlaundry.com to ask questions or correct data.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
